Tasting Judaism Class

In this three-session class, participants will get a glimpse into the most basic ideas of Judaism. Each class will go beyond the weekly topics to articulate what Judaism says about ethics, theology, and the greater purpose of life.

The first session will always be on whatever major Jewish holiday is coming up next. This class is offered three times a year, either before Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) & Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), Chanukah or Pesach (Passover). This class is a great introduction for Jewish people who are beginners in Jewish learning. It can also be an entry point for interdating and intermarried couples who would like to learn more about Judaism.

  1. Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur, Chanukah, or Passover (which holiday you will study will depend on the time of year that you take the class)
  2. Shabbat
  3. What does Judaism have to say about food, money, sexuality and the environment?
